LGBT Center Re–opens
05/31/2020
In consideration of you and your loved ones safety, the Center has remained closed during the Month of May and will make preprations for a soft re-opening around the first of June. This of course, is to lesson the spread of the COVID-19 virus. When we do open there will be some healthy protocals in place to help protect everyone such as a mask requirement when visiting or attending a group. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided and even gloves are recomended. We take your health and well beaing very seriously.
All of us have been impacted by this stay at home time, and some have been impacted more than others. While many were able to transition to working from home, a large number of our folks have been laid off. As we have all heard, unemployment benefits have been schetchy and diffulcult to obtain due to an antiquated system that simply was not ready for this type of impact. This has left many people in a position need. Some unable to pay their rent, or morgage. Some simply do not have food for the table.
The Center has begun a program in which calls and in some cases, email to each of our members just to check on them. How are you surviving this pandemic? What can we do to help? Do you need anything? With these questions, we have also developed a list of resources that may help those in need.
Perhaps you know of someone who may be in need who may not be a member of the Center but a member of our Queer community, if so, please contact us that we may reach out to them to see if we may offer assistance. In this time of pandemic we all need to stand together and support one another. For information on how you can help or if you are aware of someone in need, please contact us at 937.274.1776 or email info@daytonLGBTcenter.org.
